Yangcheon-gu Youth Space 'Mujungryokjidae Yangcheon' Selected as the Nation's Only Best Center for 2 Consecutive Years
Received Highest Grade in 2020 Ministry of Employment and Labor-Led Youth Center Operation Performance Evaluation... Annual Participation of 2,761 in Policy Delivery System for Youth
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young)'s youth space, ‘Mujungryeokjidae Yangcheon’ (359 Omok-ro, Omok Waterfront Park), has been selected as the ‘Best’ center for two consecutive years in the Youth Center Operation Performance Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Despite the difficulties caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the center received high praise for communicating with youth both online and offline and operating policies in various ways for young people.
Mujungryeokjidae Yangcheon operates various projects under the slogan ‘Visiting Youth Center, Youth Policies Closer to You,’ informing youth about youth policies and connecting them with necessary services.
Through programs such as ▲Youth Policy KakaoTalk Friends ▲Current Employee Mentoring ▲Youth Employment Project ‘Cheong.Chwi.Ja (Let’s Get a Job at the Youth Center)’ ▲My Life, Plus Alpha ▲Youth Self-Development Community ‘Uigi Yangyang’ ▲Youth Researcher Community ‘Jayeon Saenghwal (Free Research Life)’ ▲‘2030 Life Magazine’ program, the center has played a strong supportive role in assisting youth activities and support.
Last year, the center operated the ‘Youth Hope Mentoring’ program to discover and support vulnerable youth, providing psychological and career counseling programs.
Additionally, through the ‘D.I.Y Make Your Own Youth Policy’ project, the center promoted youth policies in an easy and fun way.
During a time when youth difficulties were exacerbated by COVID-19, the center’s efforts to meet youth both online and offline resulted in supporting 2,761 young people annually, leading to the remarkable achievement of being selected as the best youth center nationwide.
Yangcheon-gu plans to continue projects to strengthen youth capabilities in 2021. Based on the know-how and experience accumulated through previous public projects, the Seoul Startup Cafe Yangcheon Sinjeong branch will participate this year to actively support youth employment and entrepreneurship, further reinforcing support for youth social integration preparation.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “The selection of ‘Mujungryeokjidae Yangcheon’ as the best center for two consecutive years is the result of efforts to provide services tailored to youth needs amid the increasing difficulties caused by COVID-19.” He added, “We will continue to tighten the network so that the infrastructure and services we have built can easily reach local youth, and we will work harder to develop policies that reflect the voices of young people.”
