Jindo-gun Begins COVID-19 Vaccine 'Vaccination'
From the 26th, targeting 27,817 people aged 18 and over... Scheduled to be completed by November
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do will gradually implement COVID-19 vaccinations starting from the 26th.
According to Jindo-gun on the 19th, the vaccination will be conducted for all 27,817 residents aged 18 and over, aiming to establish herd immunity by November to prevent community transmission.
Vaccinations will be carried out at 9 designated medical institutions and a vaccination center set up in the Jindo-gun Indoor Gymnasium.
Those eligible for vaccination must make a prior reservation at the designated medical institutions or the vaccination center, and individuals cannot choose the vaccine type.
The vaccination schedule for each individual will be announced through the Jindo-gun website or local town offices once the target groups are determined according to vaccine supply.
Following the government's vaccine distribution plan, starting from the end of February, AstraZeneca vaccinations will begin for about 80 workers and residents under 65 years old at nursing hospitals and elderly care facilities.
Priority vaccinations will be given to inpatients and workers at nursing hospitals, while for elderly care facilities, considering residents with limited mobility, both on-site visits and vaccinations at the public health center will be conducted simultaneously.
From March 8, the vaccination target will expand to about 70 high-risk medical institution workers, and from March 22, to about 160 first responders such as paramedics.
