Shin Young-dae, the party spokesperson, released a Lunar New Year statement on the morning of the day, saying, "The Democratic Party will prepare for the recovery and leap forward of the Republic of Korea right after the Lunar New Year holiday."
Spokesperson Shin stated, "Due to the impact of COVID-19, just like last Chuseok, families are unable to gather and share affection during this Lunar New Year holiday," adding, "It is difficult to feel at ease amid the deepening distress of small business owners and self-employed individuals."
He continued, "Although 97% of the 3rd disaster relief fund was distributed before the Lunar New Year holiday, providing some help, it is insufficient to resolve the difficulties that have persisted over the past year," emphasizing the need to expedite discussions on the 4th disaster relief fund.
