[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 10th that it is recruiting host organizations to carry out the Practical Startup Education project. The period is from the 11th of this month to March 9th.

Practical Startup Education is a project that supports and nurtures prospective entrepreneurs with innovative startup ideas by helping them establish business models and create business plans through practical training.

This year, the Ministry plans to divide the curriculum into four specialized fields and conduct education mainly online. The specialized fields are ▲Advanced Manufacturing ▲Information and Communication Technology & Services ▲Bio & Healthcare ▲Idea Products.

Five host organizations will be selected across the four fields. One host organization will be selected per field. However, considering the number of applicants last year in the Information and Communication Technology & Services field, two organizations will be selected. Specialized startup education will be provided to more than 2,100 prospective entrepreneurs depending on the field. Each organization will receive approximately 300 million KRW in project funding.

The candidates for host organizations are universities, public institutions, and public-private organizations equipped with the capacity to systematically plan, design, and operate entrepreneurship basic education such as entrepreneurial spirit and practical training such as prototype production, as well as startup support infrastructure.

Host organizations must operate a 30-session curriculum in an online format. They must also plan and operate recruitment and management of trainees, basic education, and practical training courses twice a year.

Seungrok Park, Head of the Startup Promotion Division at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "This year's education has been converted to an online format reflecting the trend of non-face-to-face learning and trainee demand, and specialized into four professional fields to provide expert education."
