[Asia Economy Reporter Sung Ki-ho] Choi Kwang-soo, CEO of NH Savings Bank, and the sharing volunteer group announced on the 10th that they held a ‘Happiness Pouch’ sharing event to provide a warm and abundant Lunar New Year for socially marginalized groups in the community.
On the 9th, NH Savings Bank visited the Bondong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center located in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, purchased ox bone soup with rice cake dumplings, traditional Korean sweets (Hangwa), and created ‘Happiness Pouch Kits’ filled with heartfelt handwritten letters. Due to ongoing social distancing measures amid COVID-19, to ensure the safety of volunteers and neighbors, warmth was delivered non-face-to-face to over 100 socially isolated households, including elderly living alone.
CEO Choi said, “We held this sharing event with the hope that marginalized neighbors, who are going through even harder times during these difficult days for everyone, can spend a warm Lunar New Year.” He added, “NH Savings Bank will continue to take the lead in spreading a culture of sharing in the local community for those in need.”
