POSCO Delivers Over 2,500 Eco-Friendly Support Kits to COVID-19 Medical Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO is delivering more than 2,500 'somewhat special support kits' to medical staff at COVID-19 dedicated hospitals in the Seoul metropolitan area.
POSCO assembled the support kits by packing about 10 items, including health functional foods that boost immunity and anti-fogging eyeglass cleaners, into eco-friendly bags. In particular, POSCO put the support kits into upcycling backpacks made by a social enterprise that recycles car seats, conveying the meaning of supporting not only the medical staff devoted to the frontlines but also social enterprises struggling due to COVID-19.
On the 9th, POSCO held the first delivery ceremony by visiting Seoul Medical Center located in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, together with the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. Song Gwan-young, director of Seoul Medical Center, said, "We are grateful to POSCO for sending these gift packages filled with sincerity," adding, "They will be a great comfort and strength to the medical staff working hard to treat COVID-19 and prevent its spread even during the Lunar New Year holiday."
POSCO plans to deliver support kits to Incheon Medical Center in February.
This is the second time POSCO, together with the National Disaster Relief Association, has delivered support kits to medical staff treating COVID-19 patients, following the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region in March and April last year. POSCO prepared the support kits again this year to express gratitude for the hard work of medical staff in the Seoul metropolitan area, where the spread of COVID-19 continues.
