Operation of a 'Comprehensive Situation Room' for Emergency Preparedness in Incidents and Accidents

The province announced on the 8th that it will operate a 'Comprehensive Situation Room' to prepare for various incidents, accidents, and emergencies during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
In particular, focusing on preventing the inflow and spread of COVID-19 in the region, it plans to organize a COVID-19 response team, traffic countermeasures team, and promote comprehensive measures in 11 areas in cooperation with cities and counties.
First, the key living quarantine rules for the Lunar New Year holiday such as ▲ refraining from visiting hometowns, relatives, and traveling ▲ prohibition of private gatherings of five or more people ▲ getting tested if symptoms are suspected ▲ strict compliance with mask-wearing and handwashing will be actively promoted through online and offline channels.
As the spread of COVID-19 continues, to minimize inconvenience to residents, 53 screening clinics will be operated within the province, and to maintain a rapid diagnostic testing system, four infectious disease dedicated hospitals in Jeonnam and Gwangju and living treatment centers will also be operated to prevent medical gaps during the holiday period.
In addition, a special Lunar New Year traffic countermeasures situation room will be operated to strengthen quarantine in public transportation sectors such as terminals, buses, and taxis, and to promptly respond to traffic inconvenience reports, processing, and traffic accidents.
Furthermore, administrative efforts will be focused on stabilizing prices and protecting the livelihoods of ordinary citizens by inspecting compliance with origin labeling and unfair trade practices.
Especially, to prevent various disasters and accidents and to respond quickly in emergencies, the Jeollanam-do Disaster Situation Room and 119 Comprehensive Situation Room will operate 24 hours a day, and safety inspections will be conducted on 125 multi-use facilities such as comprehensive passenger facilities and sales facilities for the prevention of various incidents, accidents, and disaster safety management.
In preparation for emergency patients during the holiday period, the province and each city and county will operate emergency medical situation rooms, and 37 emergency medical institutions, 22 public health centers, holiday duty pharmacies, and regional emergency medical centers have been organized as emergency medical institutions.
Additionally, active emergency medical measures will be promoted, including operating an emergency medical exclusive helicopter for transporting emergency patients in island vulnerable areas.
Moreover, to create a warm holiday atmosphere of sharing together, social welfare facility visits will be conducted while complying with quarantine rules, and special inspections will be carried out to establish public service discipline during the Lunar New Year holiday.
