Completion of Vaccination Center Installation by Region Before Seollal
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) announced on the 7th that compensation will definitely be provided to self-employed individuals and others who suffered losses due to business suspension and restriction measures implemented for COVID-19 prevention.
Jeon Hae-cheol, the 2nd Deputy Head of CDSCH (Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety), stated in his opening remarks at the CDSCH meeting that "compensation must be provided for losses caused by business suspension and restrictions, even if it is not sufficient," and added, "We will strive to ensure that this is reflected not only in the upcoming discussions on the 4th disaster relief fund but also in the related legislative processes."
He promised, "Especially for some industries that have been unable to operate due to prolonged gathering bans lasting several months, we will urgently correct the various burdens imposed on the premise of continued business operations."
The CDSCH also decided to complete the installation of regional vaccination centers for COVID-19 vaccination before the Lunar New Year holiday (February 11?14). Deputy Head Jeon said, "Regarding vaccination, we will complete the installation of four 'regional vaccination centers' that will serve as local vaccination hubs before the Lunar New Year."
