According to Yeoju City on the 5th, the "Yeoju Ceramics History and Culture Academic Research Collection," published by the city and the Yeoju Sejong Cultural Foundation, consists of two volumes.
The first volume includes the status and characteristics of kiln sites in the Gyeonggi region, including Yeoju during the Goryeo Dynasty, as well as terms and concepts related to ceramic production facilities for pottery and porcelain.
It also comprehensively covers the development background and current status of white porcelain from the Joseon Dynasty onward, the production patterns, and the development and influence of Yeoju's ceramic industry through the Japanese colonial period, encompassing the entire process from the beginning to the development of Yeoju ceramics.
The second volume looks back on 30 years of Yeoju ceramics, focusing on the ceramics festival that has developed into Yeoju's representative festival, and contains various cultural elements that have continued as the cultural lineage of Yeoju, including distinctive events by era, master craftsmen, and ceramic artisans.
In addition, it mentions ceramic design, which led the development of Yeoju ceramics known for its strength as everyday ceramics, and provides detailed information on ceramic raw materials, types, and quality control necessary for mass production.
Furthermore, it includes the types and current status of Yeoju's ceramic industry, related cases, and Yeoju City's policies to foster and support the ceramic industry by having a pottery department at city hall.
