Korea Federation of SMEs Holds 'KEPCO-SME Win-Win Cooperation Working Council' Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) announced on the 5th that it held the '4th KEPCO-SME Win-Win Cooperation Working Council' together with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
This council was organized to explain the '2021 KEPCO SME Overseas Expansion Support Project,' which reflects the opinions of the SME sector on the difficulties faced by SMEs in the field and KEPCO's overseas business promotion direction discussed since the first meeting in November 2019, and to gather opinions from the SME sector. Attendees included Park Heon-gyu, Head of KEPCO Win-Win Development Headquarters, and Jung Wook-jo, Head of Innovation Growth Headquarters at Kbiz.
The council is a follow-up measure after the 2019 meeting between Kbiz and KEPCO. It serves as a communication channel for activating SME overseas expansion support projects through cooperation between SMEs and KEPCO and for addressing field difficulties faced by SMEs.
KEPCO introduced this year's overseas market development projects such as overseas exhibitions and export promotion events for small and medium-sized electric and energy companies struggling with exports due to COVID-19. They also requested interest and cooperation for the upcoming 'Bitgaram International Electric Power Technology Expo (BIXPO) 2021' to be held in November. In response, Kbiz promised active cooperation and requested prompt resolution of difficulties faced by SMEs supplying electric power materials.
Park Heon-gyu, Head of KEPCO Win-Win Development Headquarters, stated, "KEPCO will strive to expand SME online and offline export support projects, diversify communication channels, and strengthen win-win cooperation and self-reliance with SMEs in the electric power sector using KEPCO's capabilities."

Jung Wook-jo, Head of Innovation Growth Headquarters at Kbiz, said, "We request effective support from KEPCO," adding, "We will also consider ways to link and cooperate with projects promoted by Kbiz related to KEPCO's SME overseas market development projects."
