Gwangju City Provides Household Support Services for Single-Parent Families
For Single-Parent Families with Income Below 120% of Median Income
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 4th that it will implement a housekeeping support service starting next month to provide single-parent families with rest and time to care for their children.
The housekeeping support service is available to single-parent families with a median income of 120% or less, who are maintaining work or studies themselves, or households where the parent or child has an illness, households with preschool children, or multi-child (two or more) families with children under 12 years old, and other households in need of housekeeping support.
The services provided include cleaning, laundry, and dishwashing, with 4 hours per session. Each household can use the service once a week (4 times a month) for 10 months, up to a total of 40 sessions.
The service fee is 45,000 KRW per session, of which the individual pays 5,000 KRW.
The city plans to recruit eligible users by the 10th of this month and select a total of 20 households after screening.
