Jung Sye-kyun: "Principle is not to disclose the USB handed to Kim Jong-un... It's not wise"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Sang-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the Blue House and the government's response on the 4th regarding the North Korea nuclear power plant support document. Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun expressed reluctance about the disclosure of the USB that President Moon Jae-in handed to Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
At the National Assembly's question session to the government held that day, Rep. Lee said, "If there is anything to disclose regarding the North Korea nuclear power plant support document, it would be better to disclose everything."
In response, Prime Minister Chung said, "The government's stance is to disclose what should be disclosed," but added, "That USB contains content exchanged between heads of state, so as a matter of precedent and diplomatic practice, I understand that it is principle not to disclose such parts."
Rep. Lee then pointed out the Blue House's response. He said, "The Blue House should explain it that way. I don't think it is right to say the opposition party will take responsibility and disclose it conditionally."
