Haenam-gun, Comprehensive Measures for Lunar New Year Holiday 추진
Operation of Comprehensive Situation Room for COVID-19 Emergency Medical Care and Quarantine During the Holiday Period
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 3rd that it will operate a comprehensive situation room by sector for a safe and comfortable Lunar New Year holiday from the 11th to the 14th, a period of four days.
The situation room is organized into seven sectors including a general control team, disaster and safety measures, livestock diseases, forest fires, traffic and cleaning, health, and water supply to promptly respond to inconveniences in areas closely related to residents' lives, and will conduct emergency duty.
In particular, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, special quarantine measures will be implemented, including a holiday pause campaign urging restraint on returning home and returning from hometown during the Lunar New Year holiday, operation of screening clinics, establishment of an emergency response system, and intensive guidance and inspection of quarantine management facilities.
Prioritizing the safety and health of residents, an emergency medical response situation room will be operated at the public health center from the 11th to the 14th to monitor medical institution operations and respond to emergencies such as COVID-19.
The public health center's screening clinics will operate without closing days during the holiday period. (Screening clinics at medical institutions operate independently.) One-to-one dedicated public officials will be assigned to manage individuals in self-quarantine, and a 24-hour emergency system will be maintained to prepare for emergencies such as confirmed cases.
The public health center will provide daily medical services during the holiday, and Haenam General Hospital and Haenam Woori General Hospital will operate emergency rooms 24 hours a day. Twelve public health clinics and 21 medical institutions are designated as emergency and on-duty medical institutions, and 19 pharmacies are designated as holiday duty pharmacies, operating on a daily basis.
Information on on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies open during the holiday can be checked in real-time through the Haenam-gun public health center website, and emergency calls can be made to 119 (119 Emergency Medical Situation Management Center) or through the emergency medical portal and smartphone applications (providing emergency medical information).
In particular, major tourist sites will operate without closing days during the holiday but will limit the number of visitors in compliance with social distancing guidelines. Ttangkkeut Observatory, Sculpture Park, Monorail, Usuyeong Tourist Site, and Yang Hanmuk Memorial Hall will allow only one-third of their capacity, while Gosan Relics Exhibition Hall, Ttangkkeut Pilgrimage Literature Hall, and Dinosaur Fossil Site will allow entry for fewer than five people (except families with children).
Ttangkkeut Auto Camping Site, Hwangto Nara Theme Village, and Oceano Camping Site will operate at only 30% of their total rooms (caravans).
To block the spread of livestock diseases such as the rapidly spreading AI, thorough disinfection of livestock farms and related facilities will be conducted on the 10th and 15th, before and after the holiday. Guidance will be provided to discourage foreign workers and others from visiting their home countries, and access of outsiders such as returnees to livestock farms will be blocked. A livestock disease situation room will also be operated to respond immediately to any suspicious situations.
The Namdo Regional Memorial Park, which is frequently visited by ancestral worshippers, will close its crematorium (Hanulwon) on the holiday, the 12th. To encourage visitors to refrain from visiting, an online ancestral worship service will be operated through the Ministry of Health and Welfare's e-Haneul Funeral Information System and the Namdo Regional Memorial Park website.
In addition, safety inspections will be conducted at multi-use facilities such as bus terminals to prevent incidents and accidents, and origin and price labeling compliance for agricultural, marine, livestock products, and essential goods will be checked to stabilize prices.
By the 10th, visits and support will be provided to about 1,000 households in need, including basic livelihood security recipients and elderly living alone in each town and township, as well as 29 local facilities and organizations.
Household waste and food waste in Haenam-eup will be processed normally except on the holiday, the 12th, while townships will conduct their own collection on two to three designated days during the period. A holiday waste processing team and a mobile team will be formed to focus on collecting household waste and handling complaints about illegal dumping during the holiday.
The underground parking lot at the Gunmin Plaza in front of the county office will be open free of charge from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the holiday, and unmanned civil service issuance machines will operate 24 hours at the outdoor booth of Haenam County Office. Services will also be available at 22 locations including the General Civil Affairs Division, town and township offices, Ttangkkeut Port, and Usuyeong Port.
