Professor Kim Hyun-duk of Suncheon National University Appointed President of the International Institute of Marine Economy and Trade
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Professor Kim Hyun-duk of the Department of Logistics Business at Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 3rd that he has been inaugurated as the president of the International Association of e-Navigation and Ocean Economy.
The International Association of e-Navigation and Ocean Economy is an international academic society established in March 2016 with the approval of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. It operates with the purpose of promoting academic research related to e-navigation and ocean economy, including publishing an international journal twice a year and hosting the Ai-Mast international academic conference.
Professor Kim Hyun-duk of Suncheon National University, who has been leading the association since January this year, stated, “Through future-oriented academic research on ‘e-Navigation’ and ‘Ocean economy’ that will lead the post-COVID-19 era, we will make multifaceted efforts to create a new growth paradigm.”
Meanwhile, Professor Kim actively continues his work in various fields, serving as the vice president of the Korean Port Economics Association, editorial board member of the Asian Journal of Shipping & Logistics, port committee member of Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, marine and fisheries subcommittee member of the Jeollanam-do Policy Committee, member of the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Development Council, and in logistics workforce development.

Recently, in recognition of these contributions, he received the 2023 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who, one of the world’s top three biographical directories. He also served as the dean of the College of Future Convergence at Suncheon National University, leading efforts to expand lifelong education in the region.
