Gangnam-gu Issues Gangnam Love Gift Certificates Worth 25 Billion KRW
From 10 AM on the 3rd... Up to 700,000 KRW per person per month, 10% discount and 30% income deduction benefits
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will issue Gangnam Love Gift Certificates worth 25 billion KRW starting at 10 a.m. on the 3rd to revitalize the local economy for the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Gangnam Love Gift Certificates, which were issued in four rounds last year totaling 63 billion KRW, received high praise from residents and sold out early each time.
Anyone can purchase the certificates at a 10% discount within a monthly limit of 700,000 KRW per person, regardless of their address, and receive a 30% income deduction benefit when using them.
The purchased gift certificates can be used at Zero Pay affiliated stores and the application "Zero Delivery Union," but usage is excluded at large and semi-large stores and gambling-related businesses.
At general private academies such as foreign language and entrance exam institutes with annual sales over 1 billion KRW, large corporation-affiliated movie theaters, and franchise directly operated stores run by large and medium-sized enterprises, usage is only allowed until the end of this month, and will be restricted starting March 1.
