233 New Confirmed Cases by 6 PM... 60 Fewer Than Yesterday
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] As of 6 p.m. on the 31st, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Korea was counted at 233. This is 60 fewer cases than the same time the previous day.
According to the quarantine authorities and Seoul city on this day, from midnight to 6 p.m., a total of 233 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide. By region, 179 cases (76.8%) were in the metropolitan area, and 54 cases (23.2%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, there were 92 cases in Seoul, 76 in Gyeonggi, 15 in Gwangju, 11 in Incheon, 9 in Busan, 7 in Gangwon, 5 each in Daegu and Chungbuk, 4 in Gyeongbuk, 3 in Gyeongnam, 2 each in Chungnam and Jeonbuk, and 1 each in Daejeon and Ulsan. Among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, no confirmed cases have yet been reported in Sejong, Jeonnam, and Jeju.
Recently, new domestic confirmed cases showed a gradual decrease but have turned to an increasing trend again. Over the past week, the average number of new confirmed cases per day was 446.
Related to a workplace in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, a total of 11 people were confirmed positive from the 28th to midnight of this day, and at a language institute in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province, a total of 29 people were confirmed positive.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu was counted at 31, and at a childcare facility in Namyangju-si, a total of 14 people including teachers, children, and family members were confirmed positive. A total of 379 confirmed cases were identified across six nationwide facilities operated by the IM Mission Society, which is 11 more than the previous day.
