Confirmed Cases of Highly Pathogenic AI at Anseong and Gochang Poultry Farms... 78th and 79th Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) has been confirmed at a laying hen farm in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, and a meat duck farm in Gochang, Jeollabuk-do.
The Central Avian Influenza Countermeasures Headquarters (CAC) announced on the 28th that after conducting detailed inspections of the two farms, they confirmed the presence of highly pathogenic H5N8 strain.
The total number of highly pathogenic AI cases reported at domestic poultry farms and experience farms has reached 79.
The CAC carried out preventive culling of poultry raised within a 3 km radius of the outbreak sites. Additionally, movement restrictions for 30 days and comprehensive inspections will be implemented for poultry farms within a 10 km radius.
All poultry farms in Anseong and Gochang will have movement restrictions for 7 days.

A CAC official stated, "It is crucial that farm owners strictly adhere to basic biosecurity measures," and urged, "Please thoroughly implement daily practices such as applying slaked lime, cleaning and disinfecting farmyards, changing boots, and disinfecting inside the poultry houses."
