Boseong-gun and Yeonggwang-gun Sign MOU... Collaborate on New Product Development
Collaboration of Regional Specialty Products: Boseong Green Tea and Yeonggwang Gulbi
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong County and Yeonggwang County have joined hands to develop new products utilizing their representative local specialties, Boseong green tea and Yeonggwang dried yellow corvina.
On the 27th, Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong County, Kim Joon-sung, Governor of Yeonggwang County, Park Dong-ho, Chairman of the Boseong Tea Producers Association, and Seo Jae-chang, Head of Yeonggwang Fisheries Cooperative, signed an agreement at Yeonggwang County Office for new product development and distribution, and will actively develop food products combining Boseong green tea, Yeonggwang dried yellow corvina, and Yeonggwang solar salt.
The products currently under discussion include green tea dried yellow corvina, green tea salt, green tea dried yellow corvina pickles, and fried dried yellow corvina using green tea oil. These are semi-prepared products that are easy to eat, catering to the increasing trend of single-person households, and are being prepared as popular combined products.
Currently, Boseong County has completed efficacy verification of green tea extracts to be used in green tea dried yellow corvina and green tea salt through the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Nambu University (Professor Park Sang-gyu).
Boseong County and Yeonggwang County will be responsible for supporting new product development and distribution, Yeonggwang Fisheries Cooperative will purchase seafood and distribute and sell new products such as green tea dried yellow corvina and green tea salt. The Boseong Tea Producers Association will stably supply green tea raw materials and perform roles such as securing sales channels and quality control.
Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, “Since the beginning of my term, I have taken various approaches to promote the sales of specialty products, and this time, we are jointly developing new products using the representative specialties of Yeonggwang County and our county.” He added, “Boseong green tea and Yeonggwang dried yellow corvina, which have nationwide fame, will collaborate to create greater synergy, and we will meticulously manage everything from product development to sales so that this can be recognized as a successful case of coexistence and cooperation.”

Meanwhile, the new products jointly developed by Boseong County and Yeonggwang County are scheduled to hold a launch ceremony in July and will be introduced to the public through festivals and expos hosted by the two local governments as well as SNS live commerce.
