Muan-gun, Rural Agreement 'Public Project' Resident Survey
Presenting a New Rural Development Model Through Resident Life Service Survey
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 26th that it will conduct a resident survey from the 25th of last month until the 28th of next month to promote the 2022 Rural Agreement public project organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
The Rural Agreement public project is a regional development initiative where the central and local governments concentrate investments according to the development directions independently established by the region. By signing an agreement to achieve common policy goals, it promotes regional development projects such as revitalization of rural central areas by living zones, fostering basic living bases, and village-making projects. If selected for the project, up to 30 billion KRW (national funds) will be supported over five years starting from 2022.
Therefore, the county plans to survey 4,300 residents, which is 5% of the total population, on the usage status of rural living services in nine areas including education, welfare, culture, and sports, and based on the survey results, intends to apply for the Rural Agreement public project in May.
To this end, since the first half of last year, the county has been conducting a service project and engaging in various activities to promote the project, such as operating the intermediary support organization Village Community Support Center, establishing governance, and village-making through local delegation, which are conditions of the agreement.
