Yeo Launches Fierce Attack on 'Park Won-soon Sexual Harassment Judgment'... "Resign Nam In-soon"
Both People Power Party and People Party Raise Criticism Level Against Democratic Party in Statements on the 26th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] The National Human Rights Commission has judged that the sexual remarks made by the late former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon towards the victim constitute sexual harassment, prompting the opposition party to launch a fierce attack on the ruling party.
On the morning of the 26th, Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary, "I am relieved that the truth has finally come to light," and "I offer my condolences to the victim who has suffered indescribable secondary harm from the Moon Jae-in administration and its supporters." The Human Rights Commission announced that after holding a full committee meeting the previous day, it concluded that former Mayor Park's actions amounted to sexual harassment.
The People Power Party demanded the resignation of Nam In-soon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who is suspected of leaking information about the lawsuit filed against former Mayor Park. Spokesperson Kim pointed out, "The Democratic Party female lawmakers who, along with Representative Nam, conspired in the shadows to coin the term 'victim complainant' must offer a reasonable apology and take appropriate responsibility for insulting the public and women."
Kim also said, "A thorough reform and a responsible attitude as a political party mean strictly punishing those who distorted and downplayed sexual crimes and reversing the self-contradiction of fielding candidates in elections where candidates should not have been nominated due to culpability," adding, "This is common sense that only the Democratic Party fails to understand."
The People Party also targeted the Democratic Party. On the same day, Hong Kyung-hee, senior spokesperson for the People Party, said in a commentary, "I sincerely offer my condolences to the victim who suffered sexual assault by former Mayor Park for years and secondary harm from being insulted as a 'victim complainant' by Democratic Party lawmakers," criticizing, "The Democratic Party's tyranny, which was preoccupied with protecting its own side due to paralyzed morality and dried-up gender sensitivity, will remain a shameful memory in our political history."

Hong added, "If the former Democratic Party leaders Lee Hae-chan and Lee Nak-yeon, who caused secondary harm by using the unfamiliar term 'victim complainant,' and the Democratic Party lawmakers who even issued statements mentioning 'victim complainants' feel any shame, they should sincerely repent," emphasizing, "To Representative Nam, who hastily issued an apology this morning as the main instigator, I want to quote former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk: 'When a fly rubs its front legs, don't mistake it for an apology.' The correct answer is resignation, not an apology."
