Two Hwasun Public Officials Test Positive for COVID-19... Administrative Welfare Center Temporarily Closed
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] On the 24th and 25th of last month, two military public officials in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the county on the 25th, Jeonnam patient number 712, who works in Sapyeong-myeon, showed symptoms such as coughing and underwent a diagnostic test the previous day, which confirmed a positive result.
The county set up an emergency temporary screening clinic and collected specimens from 236 people, including residents of Sapyeong-myeon, employees of the administrative welfare center, and personnel from facilities visited by the confirmed patient, and requested diagnostic tests.
Among the 54 people tested by the morning of that day, one employee of the Sapyeong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center (Jeonnam patient number 717) tested positive, while 53 tested negative.
The remaining 182 people are awaiting test results.
During the day, the county temporarily closed the Sapyeong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, placed the employees under a two-week self-quarantine, and plans to operate a separate civil complaint handling team to minimize inconvenience to residents caused by the temporary closure.
The infection route of Jeonnam patient number 712 has not yet been identified.
The county is conducting an in-depth epidemiological investigation into the infection and movement routes of the confirmed patients together with the Jeonnam Province epidemiological investigation team.
