Tmon, Lunar New Year Gifts Go Contactless... 'Mobile Gift Sending' Increases 5.5 Times
'2021 Seol Gift' Special Exhibition Runs Until the 3rd... Over 800 Popular Products on Sale
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON (CEO Lee Jin-won) announced on the 25th that orders using the non-face-to-face gift-giving feature increased 5.5 times after investigating the sales trend of Lunar New Year gifts over the past two weeks ahead of the Lunar New Year.
According to TMON, orders through the mobile gift-giving feature increased by 452% compared to the same period last year before the Lunar New Year. In addition, 7 out of 10 customers (72%) were found to look for products priced under 30,000 KRW, showing a stronger tendency to purchase practical products compared to last year (65%).
The company analyzed that the trend of non-face-to-face gift-giving has strengthened as it remains difficult to deliver gifts in person due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). In fact, in a recent survey conducted by TMON targeting 1,043 customers, 33% responded that they would "purchase and send gifts via mobile platforms such as TMON."
TMON is holding a special event called "2021 Lunar New Year Gift Preparation" until the 3rd of next month, selecting and offering over 800 popular products at special prices. They also provide discount coupons of up to 15% based on purchase amounts to help customers prepare economically for the Lunar New Year. Most products in the Lunar New Year event can be sent as gifts, allowing customers to send products by entering only the recipient's phone number even if they do not know the address, and up to 10% "gift-only discount coupons" can also be applied.
