Incheon Namdong-gu Expands Cooperative Childcare 'Aisarang Kkumteo' to 9 Branches This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Namdong-gu, Incheon, will expand the community-based co-parenting spaces called 'Aisarang Kkumteo' to 9 locations this year.
The district announced on the 22nd that Aisarang Kkumteo branches 2 to 5 in Namdong-gu will open and begin operations on the 25th and 26th.
Aisarang Kkumteo branch 2 is located in the management office of Ganseok Geumho Eoullim Apartment, branch 3 on the 2nd floor of Guwol 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center, branch 4 in the management office of Nonhyeon Kkum-e Green Apartment, and branch 5 in the management office of Eco Metro 6 Complex Apartment. Not only residents of the apartment complexes but also nearby residents can use these facilities.
Previously, the district secured spaces within apartment complexes through free lease agreements and completed preparations for operation by equipping each Kkumteo with distinctive spaces and educational tools.
With these new openings, Namdong-gu’s Aisarang Kkumteo has increased to five locations, including the first branch opened in 2019. The district plans to expand to nine branches within this year.
Aisarang Kkumteo is a play space where preschool-aged infants and young children can use together with their guardians. Qualified staff (one professional and one assistant) are stationed to support various programs such as parent education, parent self-help meetings, and parent-child programs.
Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday (branch 3 in Namdong-gu operates Monday through Friday). Reservations can be made through the Aisarang Kkumteo website (www.kkumteo.or.kr).
