Enjoy Reading at Home, No More Worries About Staying Indoors... Busan Office of Education Launches 'Home Reading Guide' Video
Creating and Distributing Three Types: Let's Meet Books, Let's Read Books, Let's Play with Books on YouTube
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) has created video content to help find the joy of reading books at home.
On the 22nd, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will produce and distribute a video titled "Fun Family Home Reading Guide" to help students develop proper reading habits at home.
The videos are tailored to the developmental stages and reading activity levels of 1st and 2nd grade elementary school children, consisting of three types?"Meet the Book," "Read the Book," and "Play with the Book"?each lasting 3 to 4 minutes.
They introduce how to create a reading-friendly atmosphere at home, ways to read books with children, methods for reading different types of books, how to access and use e-books, and various post-reading activities to do with parents.
The videos are also uploaded on the "Busan BookjeokBookjeok Booktuber" YouTube channel to allow parents easy access at home. Elementary school teachers can directly use them in reading classes for lower-grade students.
In December last year, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education produced a booklet titled "Fun Family Home Reading Guide" to provide necessary information for guiding children’s reading at home, which was distributed to parents of elementary school students and parents of prospective elementary students for the 2021 academic year.
