Hwasun-gun 'Returnee Farmers' House' Tenant Recruitment
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting residents for the ‘House for Returning Farmers,’ which is operated to assist city dwellers who face difficulties securing housing in the early stages of returning to farming or rural living.
The county operates five Houses for Returning Farmers in Gwanyeong Village, Neungju-myeon; Singi Village, Dongbok-myeon; Seokjeong Village, Chunyang-myeon; Ssangbong Village, Iyang-myeon; and Ansim Village, Iseo-myeon.
Eligibility for residency is open to any city dweller who has lived in the city for more than one year and intends to return to farming or rural living locally by securing a house and farmland while living in the House for Returning Farmers.
The usage fee for residency is a deposit of 1.2 million KRW and a monthly fee of up to 150,000 KRW, with utility bills and management fees borne by the resident.
In principle, the residence can be used for only one year, but if there are no additional users and the existing returning farmer wishes, the usage period can be extended by up to three months.
The House for Returning Farmers serves as a ‘link’ to help city dwellers who wish to return to farming or rural living settle down.
It also reduces the initial investment burden for securing housing and farmland, provides an adaptation period to understand the characteristics and environment of rural villages, and interact with village residents, thereby minimizing conflicts.
It offers an opportunity to assess whether rural life suits the individual, helping to reduce the possibility of failure in returning to farming.
