Jeongeup-si, Promotion of Forest Financial Support Job Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk Province is investing approximately 1.38 billion KRW this year to promote the Forest Financial Support Job Project for local job creation and sustainable forest resource management.
The Forest Financial Support Job Project is a forest service job initiative supported by the Korea Forest Service, aiming to create a total of 66 jobs across 8 sectors.
The job sectors include ▲Public Forest Maintenance ▲Landslide Site Prevention Team ▲Vine Removal Team ▲Specialized Forest Fire Prevention and Suppression Team ▲Forest Pest Monitoring and Control Team ▲Urban Green Space Managers ▲Forest Trail Experience Guides ▲Forest Ecology Managers.
The city plans to foster sustainable and publicly beneficial forests through public forest maintenance and vine removal, and prevent forest disasters by operating the specialized forest fire prevention and suppression team, forest pest monitoring and control team, and landslide site prevention team.
Additionally, through urban green space managers, forest trail experience guides, and forest ecology managers, the city aims to improve forest recreation and green landscape to provide high-quality forest services to citizens.
To this end, the city accepted applications from the 13th to the 15th, and after document review and interviews, will select final participants by sector and begin operations next month.
Priority in selection will be given to vulnerable groups such as employment protection targets, in line with the purpose of supporting jobs for vulnerable employment groups and financial independence.
Working hours are 8 hours per day, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
While a five-day workweek is the principle, operations will be flexibly managed according to the characteristics of each task and period. The daily wage for this year is 69,760 KRW.

A city official stated, “Through forest sector jobs, we expect to enhance the value of forest resources, improve landscapes, prevent forest disasters in advance, and contribute to economic revitalization through local job creation.”
