Public Shopping, Implements Safety Measures for Delivery Workers Ahead of Lunar New Year
Efforts to Ensure Safety Including Waiver of Penalties for Shipment and Delivery Delays During Holiday Periods
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Gongyoung Shopping announced on the 21st that it will waive penalties imposed for shipment and delivery delays in order to protect delivery workers in preparation for the increased parcel volume during this holiday season.
This safety measure was established to prevent social issues such as overwork-related deaths recently occurring among delivery workers. Gongyoung Shopping plans to thoroughly protect delivery workers in anticipation of an increase in parcel volume ahead of the holiday, as the trend of sending gifts instead of returning home for the Lunar New Year is forming.
Starting from the 20th, Gongyoung Shopping has been participating in a campaign to prevent delivery workers' overwork by frequently broadcasting messages such as "To prevent overwork and protect delivery workers, we refrain from excessive delivery" to customers. These messages will be exposed not only on broadcasts but also on the online shopping mall and notification messages sent when ordering products.
Additionally, after the holiday period, Gongyoung Shopping plans to continue waiving delivery delay penalties for bulky or heavy items such as tissue boxes. They are also promoting measures to reduce the workload of delivery workers by applying handles to their own delivery packaging boxes.
