Jeonnam Fire Department's Average Arrival Time at Fire Scenes Last Year: 7 Minutes 51 Seconds
6 Seconds Faster Than 2019... 57.1% Arrival Rate Within 7 Minutes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] It has been revealed that the arrival time of Jeonnam Fire Department at fire scenes is getting faster and faster.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 19th that the fire truck arrival time at fire scenes last year was shortened by 6 seconds compared to 2019. This is the second consecutive year of achievement following 2019.
Last year, the average time taken to arrive at the scene for 2,472 fire dispatches was 7 minutes and 51 seconds. The arrival rate within 7 minutes at fire scenes was confirmed to be 59.1%.
This is 6 seconds shorter than the 7 minutes and 57 seconds average in 2019, and the arrival rate within 7 minutes increased by 2% to 57.1%.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters has set the target time from the report reception stage to arrival at the fire scene at 7 minutes to minimize large fires and casualties in case of fire, and is making prompt responses.
Dispatch to fire scenes starts from report reception, followed by dispatch command, garage exit, en route to the scene, and arrival at the fire scene.
To shorten the arrival time at fire scenes, efforts such as reducing the average dispatch distance by establishing new fire stations, building a rapid report reception and dispatch command system, and shortening dispatch time through repeated training are necessary.
To this end, Jeonnam Fire established 5 new fire stations last year (1 fire station, 3 safety centers, 1 regional unit) to reduce the average dispatch distance and built the nation’s first smart dispatch command display system.
Also, efforts to shorten dispatch time have continued through fire truck garage exit training and yielding-the-way training.

To compensate for this, we will strive to protect residents’ safety by further reducing fire scene arrival times through establishing fire stations and repeated training.”
