'Art Center Incheon, Close to Citizens'... Diverse Cultural and Arts Education Programs
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The 'Art Center Incheon,' a hall dedicated to classical music located in Songdo International City, Incheon, will come closer to citizens this year by offering a variety of cultural and arts education programs.
On the 18th, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that following the approval of the 'Partial Amendment to the Art Center Incheon Operation Ordinance,' which allows the provision of cultural and arts education programs to citizens, by the city council last November, various programs will be actively operated starting from May this year.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority plans to expand the scope of Art Center Incheon, which has built its reputation as a hall dedicated to classical music, by providing citizens with diverse opportunities to enjoy culture and making multifaceted use of the underutilized 7th-floor multipurpose hall, rehearsal rooms, and studios.
Accordingly, programs such as cultural lectures for adults, arts education for children, and special lectures by invited distinguished guests will be introduced.
The cultural lectures for adults will consist of two theoretical courses focusing on music and art.
The music lecture curriculum introduces classical masterpieces by era, includes appreciation of works, and reexamines each piece from a humanities perspective. The art lecture explains works centered on major museums in world cities and explores the contemporary thoughts and cultures of the time.
The arts education program for children is a music education designed to enhance creativity by allowing children to express their thoughts and emotions through the tool of composition.
Additionally, five special lectures annually by invited distinguished figures in the humanities are prepared. Not only in culture and arts but also in politics, economy, and society, distinguished guests from various fields will be invited to deliver in-depth lectures on their era's discourse. Writer and lecturer Son Mina, who transformed from a star announcer, will participate as the host of the lectures.
