Jeongeup-si, Recruiting Local Production Processed Food Suppliers for School Meals
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 18th that it is recruiting qualified companies to supply locally produced processed foods to schools in the region.
The target items include 14 product categories such as sauces, tofu products, muk (acorn jelly) products, rice cakes, oils, red pepper powder, dairy products, processed fruit products, pickled products, kimchi, porridge, soups, sausages, and processed rice products.
Suppliers will deliver processed products to elementary, middle, and high school meal services within the region for one year, from March 1 of this year to February 28 of next year.
Applicants must have a manufacturing plant in Jeongeup as of the announcement date (January 15, 2021) and be capable of continuously supplying the above product categories.
Additionally, they must possess permits or business registration certificates required by relevant laws for school meal supply qualifications and meet the qualification conditions set by Jeongeup City, using at least 60% of raw materials produced in Jeongeup.
However, for items where seasonal supply of Jeongeup raw materials is difficult, raw materials produced within the province are allowed.
The city will select qualified companies capable of supplying safe ingredients through document screening and on-site evaluation from today until the 29th.
Companies wishing to participate as suppliers of locally produced processed foods can visit the Agricultural Technology Center’s Agricultural and Fisheries Distribution Division, Food Processing Team, to submit applications and required documents.
