Eunsu Kim Appointed as CEO of Hanwha Galleria and President of the Korea Shooting Federation
Term from the 26th of this month for 4 years
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Hanwha Galleria announced on the 17th that CEO Kim Eun-su (photo) has been appointed as the 30th President of the Korea Shooting Federation. CEO Kim Eun-su ran as the sole candidate in the federation president candidacy registration, which closed on the 7th.
The Shooting Federation Election Management Committee, after conducting the candidate screening process according to the articles of association regulations for a single candidate, decided on CEO Kim Eun-su as the 30th President of the Korea Shooting Federation. The term of office is four years starting from the 26th of this month.
Hanwha Group, supported by Chairman Kim Seung-yeon's passion for shooting and group-level sponsorship, has been supporting Korean shooting as the Korea Shooting Federation's president company since 2002, maintaining a relationship with Korean shooting and sponsoring it for 19 years. Korean shooting achieved overall first place in Olympic shooting events by winning 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals at the 2012 London Olympics.
Korean shooting secured its status as a world shooting powerhouse and hosted the 2018 Changwon World Shooting Championships, the first in 40 years since 1978. Hanwha Group has contributed approximately 20 billion KRW to the shooting development fund to improve athletes' performance, including hosting the Hanwha Chairman's Cup National Shooting Competition and conducting overseas training camps for national representatives. For its contribution to Korean shooting culture, Hanwha Group received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the ‘1st Korea Sports Mecenat Awards Ceremony’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Sports Council in December last year.

Newly appointed Korea Shooting Federation President Kim Eun-su stated, “I will inherit and develop the shooting achievements that Hanwha Group has accomplished together with the Shooting Federation, and I will actively dedicate myself to ensuring that being a Korean shooter itself becomes a source of pride, and that the status of Korean shooting is firmly elevated at international competitions such as the Tokyo Olympics.” He added, “I will lead the federation with relentless renewal and reform efforts so that our shooting is recognized as a sport with high values of fairness and as a model and leading sports organization in federation management and sports culture.”
