Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Hold 'Online Startup and Commercialization Support Project Briefing' on the 18th
[Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Institute of Marine Science and Technology Promotion (KIMST) announced on the 17th that they will hold an "Online Marine and Fisheries Startup and Commercialization Support Project Briefing" on the 18th for promising marine and fisheries companies.
The Marine and Fisheries Startup and Commercialization Support Project is a program designed to assist the growth of startup companies (including prospective startups) and small and venture companies engaged in the marine and fisheries sector, and to foster an investment ecosystem in marine and fisheries. Last year, through the startup investment support project, 75 companies achieved sales of 44.6 billion KRW and created 107 new jobs.
This year, the scale of commercialization funding support was increased from 25 million KRW to 30 million KRW per company, and the number of companies eligible for investment attraction consulting support was expanded from 15 to 30. Additionally, to support technology development of startups with high growth potential and the advancement and technology transfer of already secured technologies, a new "Marine and Fisheries Technology Startup Scale-up Research and Development (R&D) Project" will be launched.
This year's project briefing will be conducted via video on the KIMST website and YouTube channel to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Anyone interested in startups and technology commercialization can watch the briefing video.
