On the 16th, Prime Minister Chung posted on his Facebook, "I officiated a surprise wedding ceremony today."
He continued, "Some might think, 'What kind of wedding officiation would a Prime Minister do during such a serious COVID-19 situation?'" and explained, "Last October, at the opening event of the Korea Sale Festa, a soon-to-be-married couple I met asked me to officiate their wedding, saying I had a kind appearance. I felt grateful and proud of the bride and groom getting married in these difficult times, so I readily promised to do so. Today is the day I kept that promise."
He added, "I gave the beautiful couple a few words of wisdom for a happy married life," and said, "The secret to a happy marriage is to love without losing your initial heart, to be a support for each other during difficult times, and to resolve problems through sufficient communication."
Finally, Prime Minister Chung said, "I sincerely congratulate the two on their new beginning and sincerely wish them a future full of happiness."
Meanwhile, that day was when the government decided to extend the social distancing level and the ban on private gatherings of five or more people until the end of this month.
