Gokseong-gun to Provide Farmers and Fishermen's Public Interest Allowance Regardless of Household Members' Occupations Starting This Year
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 16th that it will accept applications for this year's public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen until the 10th of next month.
This year's public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen will be paid in two installments: 300,000 won each in April and October, totaling 600,000 won. To revitalize the local economy, the full amount will be paid in Gokseong Simcheong gift certificates, and applications can be submitted at the administrative offices of the relevant eup and myeon in the applicant's address jurisdiction.
The payment targets are business owners of farming, fishing, or forestry management entities who have continuously resided in Jeonnam Province and engaged in agriculture or fisheries since before December 31, 2019.
Notably, starting this year, any farmer or fisherman actually engaged in agriculture can receive the allowance regardless of the occupations of household members. Last year, farmers and fishermen living with public officials or employees of public institutions were not eligible for the allowance.
However, those with non-agricultural income exceeding 37 million won, those who have fraudulently received subsidies such as direct payments, public officials and employees of public institutions, and those who have separated households while living with eligible business owners are not eligible to receive the public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen.
