Contributing to Building National Consensus for Preventing Traffic Accidents in Children's Safety Zones
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 15th, Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, participated in the ‘Children’s Traffic Safety Relay Challenge’ campaign to establish a culture of protecting children and prevent traffic accidents involving children.
This campaign, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was created to build national consensus on preventing traffic accidents in school zones. Participants post photos on SNS making the ‘Safety Bracket Pose’ and then nominate the next participant.
Having been nominated by the Mayor of Seo-gu, Incheon, Mayor Park Jun-hee posted a photo on SNS holding a sign that reads ‘Stop at 1, Look both ways at 2, Wait for 3 seconds, Prevent 4 dangers.’
Mayor Park said, “Small actions such as looking left and right and reducing speed for children’s safety can protect all of our lives and safety,” adding, “I ask all residents to participate in these small practices to raise awareness of children’s traffic safety and create safe school zones.”
