Namwon-si, Launches Book Price Refund Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City in Jeonbuk announced on the 14th that it will continue the 'Book Price Refund Project' this year following last year.
The Namwon City Public Library's 'Book Price Refund Project' allows citizens who purchase books at bookstores in the Namwon area to read them and, within one month, bring the purchased books along with receipts proving the purchase to the public libraries (Namwon City Library and Children's & Youth Library) to receive full support up to two books in the form of Namwon Love Gift Certificates.
The Namwon City Library, which had been operating under restrictions due to COVID-19, launched this project in June last year to alleviate citizens' difficulties and revitalize local bookstores and the regional economy, which had been struggling against online bookstores. A total of 586 Namwon citizens participated, purchasing and reading 993 books from local bookstores and receiving 15,061,000 KRW in Namwon Love Gift Certificates.
