Jeongeup-si to Open 5 Firefighting Road Routes with 3 Billion Won Investment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 14th that it will invest about 3 billion KRW this year to promote the construction of fire roads at five locations, including the road widening project in Singtaein-eup.
The project sections include the road widening in front of Singtaein Elementary School, as well as four other fire road construction sections: behind the Senior Welfare Center (201m length, 4m width), from the Arts Center to Yangwoo Naeanae Apartments (300m length, 8m width), around Yuchang Apartments (381m length, width expanded from 6m to 10m), and Daehung 2-gil (120m length, 6m width).
The targeted areas are densely populated regions where narrow road widths made vehicle access into the village impossible.
Due to concerns that this could seriously threaten residents' safety in the event of a fire, there is strong public opinion supporting the need to open fire roads to improve living conditions.
