The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 14th that it has decided to launch the "High Value-added Converged Logistics Delivery and Infrastructure Innovation Technology Development" project to support the rapidly growing living logistics industry.
To this end, the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement will call for organizations to carry out eight detailed tasks from the 15th of this month until April 17th, and research will begin in April.
This project aims to secure advanced logistics technologies at the level of developed countries by integrating the living logistics industry, which has been labor-dependent, with Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as robots, the Internet of Things, and blockchain through national research and development (R&D) investment.
A total of 146.1 billion KRW will be invested over seven years from this year until 2027. Thirteen detailed technologies in the fields of living logistics delivery and infrastructure and logistics digital information integrated management platforms will be developed.

View original imageTo enhance the efficiency and safety of living logistics, which has surged due to the popularization of non-face-to-face services, eight urgent tasks will be initiated first.
First, since securing logistics infrastructure in urban areas is difficult due to high land prices, a system will be developed where multiple companies jointly use a single logistics facility. Efficiency will be maximized and traffic congestion and environmental pollution reduced through the development of underground logistics technology utilizing urban rail transit and utility tunnels.
In response to the rapid increase in household waste caused by the popularization of delivery and fresh food delivery, smart packaging containers that are reusable and maintain temperature will be developed.
Along with improving the working conditions of delivery workers, low-floor cargo truck loading beds and loading/unloading assistance equipment that can be mounted on vehicles will also be developed to ensure safe passage within apartment complexes.
