Seoul Reports 134 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... Maintaining 100s for a Week
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The daily number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul has dropped to the 130s, the lowest level in over 50 days.
As of midnight on the 14th, Seoul city reported 134 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 22,056. This is the lowest daily increase since November 23 of last year, when 133 cases were reported, marking the lowest in 51 days.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul has remained below 200 for a week, with 191 cases on the 7th, 188 on the 8th, 187 on the 9th, 141 on the 10th, 167 on the 11th, 152 on the 12th, and 134 on the 13th.
A cluster infection was confirmed at a child care facility in Gangbuk-gu yesterday, with 19 people testing positive so far.
Additional confirmed cases were reported related to a care facility in Seongdong-gu (total 18), a care facility II in Yangcheon-gu (total 52), a nursing hospital in Gangdong-gu (total 12), a religious facility in Gwanak-gu (total 19), and a religious facility in Seodaemun-gu (total 14).
Other cases include 79 from contact with confirmed patients, 5 from contact with confirmed patients in other cities or provinces, 3 imported cases, and 36 cases under investigation for infection routes.
The death toll increased by 2, bringing the total number of deaths to 252.
So far, 16,304 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 5,500 are currently in isolation and receiving treatment.
