70s Man Who Disappeared After COVID-19 Diagnosis Caught at Sauna
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 70s who tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) went missing after not responding to calls from the public health center and was later apprehended by the police.
According to the police on the 14th, the Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul received a report at 5:14 PM the previous day from the Jungnang-gu Public Health Center stating that they were unable to contact Mr. A, who had tested positive for COVID-19.
The police tracked Mr. A's approximate movements through his mobile phone location and searched the nearby area, finding him at 12:05 AM the same day, six hours later. Mr. A was found to have been at a sauna in Cheongnyangni-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
Mr. A is currently admitted to a residential treatment center. The quarantine authorities plan to identify Mr. A's exact movements and guide those who had contact with him to undergo COVID-19 testing.
