Jinju-si, Rated 'Excellent' in 2020 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 13th that it received an "A-" grade, which corresponds to excellence, in the "2020 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation" announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation is conducted annually by the government to assess civil complaint services provided by public institutions and local governments to the public.
In last year's evaluation, 304 institutions were assessed, including 44 central administrative agencies, 17 city and provincial offices of education, 17 metropolitan local governments, and 226 basic local governments, based on the handling of civil complaints from October 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020.
The evaluation was conducted through a combination of document review and on-site inspection across five categories and 18 indicators: civil complaint administrative strategy and system, operation of civil complaint systems, handling of civil complaints via the National Sinmungo (online complaint system), handling of grievance complaints, and civil complaint satisfaction.
In this survey, which classified grades from A to E, the city earned balanced scores across most categories and received an "A-" grade, indicating progress in the field of civil complaint services.
Since the 7th elected administration, the city received a "D" grade in 2018, a "C" grade in 2019, and in 2020, through various efforts such as the head of the institution's internal and external activities related to civil complaint administration, providing civil complaint services for socially disadvantaged groups, improving grievance complaint handling rates, resolving group conflict complaints, and checking the status of complaint handling, it achieved the excellent "A-" grade.
