To increase farmers' income by improving the marketability of agricultural products and enhancing distribution competitiveness, the city plans to accept project applications in January from regional agricultural cooperatives, farmers' organizations, export complexes, and integrated marketing organizations.
The main projects include the construction of an Agricultural Product Distribution Center (APC) selected through last year's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs public contest, support for sorting machines, cold storage, and distribution machinery and equipment, as well as joint sorting costs, packaging materials, and marketing support to foster integrated marketing organizations. Additionally, the plan is to enhance distribution competitiveness by strengthening the innovation capacity of production area distribution organizations for scaling and organizing production areas.
To secure sales channels for women farmers and elderly farmers, the city will link with local food projects and actively support processing sectors such as the development of side dish industries using local agricultural and specialty products as raw materials to increase added value.
In particular, through active export expansion policies such as establishing export infrastructure and supporting logistics costs and export promotion incentives, Sangju plans to enhance the export competitiveness of its agricultural products, stabilize prices in the domestic market, and increase farmers' income.
