The ‘Expecting Local Autonomy’ challenge is a participatory campaign aimed at sharing hopes for the realization of ‘resident-centered local autonomy,’ the main subject of local autonomy, through the revised Local Autonomy Act for the first time in 32 years and the implementation of the autonomous police system for the first time in 75 years.
The participation method involves writing a message about the Local Autonomy 2.0 era on a hand sign, taking a photo, posting it on the affiliated organization’s or personal SNS, and nominating three next participants.
Governor Seo Chun-soo of Hamyang-gun, who participated in the challenge that day, delivered the message “Local Autonomy 2.0 Era Local Autonomy, Together with the Residents” and reaffirmed his determination for the era of local autonomy together with the residents.
Governor Seo said, “Local autonomy means that all our residents are the owners and main actors of the region, and I will make further efforts to realize resident-centered local autonomy,” adding, “I ask all residents to pay great attention to local autonomy that changes our lives.”
