Yangsan City Accelerates Efforts to Become a Top-Rated Integrity City
This Year’s Goal: Achieving Grade 1 Integrity, Leading by Example in High-Ranking Officials’ Integrity, and Advancing 19 Tasks
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Last year, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam, which received a grade 2 in the public institution integrity evaluation, is striving not to be satisfied with the present but to become a more transparent city.
The city announced on the 12th that it will establish and implement the "2021 Comprehensive Plan for Integrity Improvement," which includes 19 practical tasks in 4 major areas to create "Integrity Yangsan where everyone is happy through participation and communication."
To achieve a grade 1 in integrity this year, senior officials will take the lead in transparent budget execution, fair work instructions, and fostering a culture of mutual respect within the organization to enhance internal integrity.
By handling civil complaints fairly and responsibly and focusing on managing corruption-prone areas, the city plans to strengthen external integrity and firmly raise both internal and external integrity levels.
Additionally, the city plans to eradicate power abuse and strengthen mutual respect practices, implement customized integrity education for each employee, activate communication within the organization through an employee integrity policy idea contest, and enhance integrity capabilities to change awareness among all employees and eliminate habitual and chronic corrupt practices.
