Twitter Permanently Suspends 70,000 Accounts Related to Far-Right Group 'QAnon' Following Trump Ban

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Twitter has permanently suspended more than 70,000 accounts related to the far-right conspiracy group 'QAnon' in consideration of the U.S. Capitol riot, Bloomberg News reported on the 12th (local time).
According to the report, Twitter stated in a blog post released that day, "Since the 8th, we have suspended more than 70,000 accounts, including cases where one person operated multiple accounts," adding, "These accounts were created to share harmful content related to QAnon and to spread conspiracy theories."
QAnon is a far-right group that spreads various conspiracy theories. Some supporters of former President Donald Trump, who instigated the U.S. Capitol riot on the 6th, are said to be followers of QAnon. QAnon spreads conspiracy theories that pedophiles control the United States and that they manipulate the media and politicians, emphasizing that only President Trump can save America.
