The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Park Young-sun, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) and the Korea Federation of SMEs (Chairman Kim Ki-moon, hereinafter referred to as the Federation) held a launch event for the "Really Good SME Platform" at the Federation's office in Yeouido on the 12th and announced that it will enter a one-month pilot operation. The "Really Good SME Platform" (hereinafter the Platform) provides information on about 30,000 excellent SMEs recognized by public institutions such as the government and local governments for their expertise, excellence, and growth potential in areas such as jobs, research and development (R&D), and overseas expansion.
According to a recent survey by the Federation targeting young job seekers, 83% of high school graduates, 77.6% of junior college graduates, and 67.9% of university graduates recognize that realistically, their chances of employment at SMEs are high. However, 60.5% of young job seekers said it is difficult to obtain information on excellent SMEs and SME job opportunities.
In response, the Ministry and the Federation have been promoting the platform construction project to help young job seekers discover excellent SMEs and find good jobs. To build the "Really Good SME" database, the Ministry and the Federation collected information on about 110,000 SMEs participating in 100 certification and recognition programs such as Inno-Biz and Global Small Giants operated by the government and local governments.
Additionally, they gathered data on about 17,500 financially excellent companies in five areas including growth and profitability, compiling information on a total of about 120,000 companies. Finally, they established a database of about 30,000 companies meeting six qualification criteria such as credit rating (BB- or higher) and turnover rate (average turnover rate below 20% over the past three months).
The platform allows young job seekers to easily find company information such as preferred corporate culture, job characteristics, and working conditions through map exploration and preferred condition searches. Users can search for companies on the map and check information on transportation, welfare, leisure, and convenience facilities around the company. They can also find companies matching their preferred types through a simple self-diagnosis (desired salary level, importance of work environment and organizational culture, etc.). In addition, the "Search by Condition" feature allows searching companies by detailed criteria such as 108 welfare items and 5 corporate capabilities. The platform is scheduled to officially open on the 15th of next month.
