Support for Dispatch Vehicles for Child Protection Experts' On-Site Response and Accompaniment to Hospital Treatment

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Shinhan Bank announced on the 12th that it held a handover ceremony for an emergency dispatch vehicle to prevent and eradicate child abuse at the newly opened Incheon Western Child Protection Agency on Wanjeong-ro, Seo-gu, Incheon.
The Child Protection Agency is a specialized institution entrusted by local governments under Article 45 of the Child Welfare Act, responsible for child protection (such as livelihood support), counseling and treatment, and abuse prevention.
The emergency dispatch vehicle donated by Shinhan Bank will be used by child protection experts for rapid on-site dispatch and investigation, psychological testing and treatment of children, and accompaniment during hospital visits to ensure the safety and protection of children in the Incheon area.
A Shinhan Bank official said, "Preventing child abuse and helping children and adolescents grow up healthy and properly is the way to secure the future of society and the bank," adding, "Shinhan Bank will continue to actively consider social issues and find solutions to create social value."
Shinhan Bank continues various efforts to protect children and adolescents.
Since 2005, through the voluntary donation program ‘Love Click’ by employees, it has donated over 900 million won to 267 cases related to children and adolescents. Since 2012, it has operated the ‘Shinhan Family Ten Thousand Won Sharing Donation’ with Naver Happy Bean, supporting child protection agencies with over 100 million won.
Additionally, since 2013, it has supported about 4,000 students nationwide by providing school supply kits to celebrate elementary school entrance for children in childcare facilities. Since 2016, in partnership with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, it has accumulated funds through the ‘Shinhan Child Happiness Voucher’ to support awareness improvement projects for child abuse prevention.

Going forward, Shinhan Bank plans to continue systematic projects for the protection of children and adolescents through voluntary donations in cooperation with labor unions, aligned with Shinhan Financial Group’s ‘Crisis Family Recovery Support’ program, which provides support for abused children, education and childcare expenses, medical expenses, and living and housing costs for vulnerable groups facing sudden crises, ensuring continuous support beyond one-time aid.
