Unemployed Individuals Aged 50 to Under 70 with Job Counselor Certification: 40 Hours/Week, Approx. 2.2 Million KRW/Month from February to December
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is operating the ‘50+ Hope Job Consultants Leading Seoul’ to create jobs for the middle-aged and older adults.
The term middle-aged and older adults refers to the age group of 50 to 70 years who live youthfully to cultivate themselves and live a happy life.
According to the district, the middle-aged and older population in Songpa-gu is about 185,800, accounting for 37% of the working-age population, showing a high proportion and an increasing trend with about 1,270 more people than the previous year.
Accordingly, the district will operate the ‘50+ Hope Job Consultants Leading Seoul’ (hereinafter referred to as Hope Job Consultants) from February to provide customized job services for the middle-aged and older adults.
The Hope Job Consultants are responsible for ▲re-employment consulting and placement ▲discovering job openings and job seekers ▲operating visiting job counseling booths based on their professional experience and qualifications.
Unemployed persons aged 50 or older but under 70 with a job counselor certificate can participate as consultants.
The activity period is from February to December, with working hours of 40 hours per week and a monthly salary of about 2.2 million KRW.
Those who wish to participate can visit the Songpa-gu Office Job Policy Division or apply by email or mail by January 14, and will be selected after a separate screening process.

In addition, the district will also promote the ‘50+ Companion Activity Group Leading Seoul,’ a social contribution project for the middle-aged and older adults this year. In preparation for the full-fledged super-aged society, it will provide emotional support services such as companionship for elderly people in welfare blind spots. The operating institution will be selected in January, and the project will be carried out flexibly considering the COVID-19 situation.
