[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 10th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that highly pathogenic avian influenza occurred at a meat duck farm in Gajo-myeon.
The county reported that the livestock quarantine agency detected the H5 type AI antigen during a pre-shipment inspection well and culled 20,000 ducks.
Access to the farm has been restricted, and epidemiological investigations and quarantine measures such as movement restrictions, surveillance, and inspections have been implemented for farms within a 10 km radius. Additionally, a temporary movement suspension order was issued for livestock facilities (slaughterhouses, feed factories) and livestock vehicles in the Dongrye-ri meat duck farm area if they are family members.
This also applies to poultry farms, livestock facilities, and livestock vehicles belonging to the integrated operators of the suspected case farms.
The period is 48 hours from 2 a.m. on the 10th to 2 a.m. on the 12th, and 24 hours for edible egg transport vehicles until 2 a.m. on the 11th.
Violating the movement suspension order is punishable by up to one year imprisonment or a fine of up to 10 million won according to relevant laws.
