In a letter sent on the 6th to Gholamhossein Shafei, Chairman of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Chairman Kim stated, "Korea and Iran have strong potential to be important trade partners to each other," adding, "Especially this year, as companies from both countries are making greater efforts to overcome the pandemic, we hope that the Iran Chamber of Commerce will also support the early release of the Korean vessel and crew to prevent trade and exchanges between the two countries from freezing due to this incident."
